Most of the poker rooms have a Bad Beat now, and the Peppermill has the most tournaments in Reno. There are only few poker rooms in town that run Omaha poker and seven card stud games. All the casinos will play any poker game you like if you get enough players to fill a table. The casinos run three types of Texas Hold’em poker tournaments.

It all started with regulations drafted by the Nevada Gaming Commission on Dec. An opinion letter written by the Department of Justice became public the following day stating that online poker did not violate the Wire Act.The DOJ opinion written three months earlier was in response to a state lottery inquiry.

Peppermill Reno Poker Room (A-)
The Poker Room at the Peppermill is one of the largest in the region, and appears to have at least 20 tables running. The area is very comfortable, and the chairs and tables are top-notch. There are always several games running, as well as a tournament schedule. They have options to entice the beginner as well as challenge the serious player.

The Sands has a small area set aside for a Poker Room. It is just barely large enough for three poker tables, and isn't very fancy. When we were there, two poker tables were sitting in the area adjacent to the Sportsbook and the Pipeline lounge. The chairs were basic banquet chairs, and the area was a big cramped.
